Openinkstand Art & Calligraphy

This was from the Penman’s Art Journal, June 1886. 

Even way back then people were lamenting the decline of good penmanship. To put things in perspective, this was only like 20 years after P.R. Spencer, the father of American penmanship passed away.

What would they think if they were alive today?
