A girl and her poetry

My first love has always been illustration. My day job is as a graphic artist and when I get home at night, I am usually too tired to paint. So two years ago, I started to do calligraphy after work as a way to let off some creative steam in a way that doesn’t require as much time or investment as illustration. As you may have guessed, calligraphy is now a full-blown obsession, overtaking whatever free time I have left.

Last weekend I decided to put aside any work I have for two days to paint with actual watercolors again. This lady emerged from my sketchbook along with the Spencerian from her hands. It felt really good to paint again after such a long time. After such a long time working and doing stuff for others, it is a breath of fresh air to do some stuff for me. I hope to make time for more of these in the future, it’ll be for my own good!
