First, we had the flowers painted pen, then abstract patterns, then flourished birds, then dragons.. and now, Faberge egg inspired.
Not really Faberge eggs though, but more like any decorative element that happens to cross my mind. This one is called ‘Galaxy’ because it started out as Baroque/Rococo inspired, but turned into something else, I don’t know why it reminds me of something space opera-ish. Maybe I’ve just been thinking about Interstellar too much, or Sailormoon or something.
Nevertheless, I really like it!
Before we started all these Painted Pen business, Brian and I had an agreement: he could keep one pen, and I could keep one, whichever painted pen, no questions asked. He has since chosen his, the original Dragon which he named Smaug, and I’m happy he did. He kept asking though, which one am I going to keep? And I gotta admit, every time I made a pen, I’ve considered keeping it.. I’ve come very close to wanting to keep the second Dragon, I was verrrrryy close to wanting to keep the Practice bird flourish pen and many many others I have to sleep it over, but I always let them go. But now, the Galaxy pen is staring at my face, asking me if I will keep it forever or lose it forever…
Alas, I let it go. When Brian announced its availability in his shop, it sold very quickly. I still wonder if I should have kept it… looking at these pictures, I kind of wish I did.. but then again, I could say the same with the other pens.
And as I always say, there will be more!
